Due to the severe weather we are experiencing - Aldergate Medical Practice will be running a reduced service.  We ask that patients only attend the surgery if absolutely necessary due to safety concerns.

Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person, over the telephone or online via the link at the top of this page.

We offer extended hours surgeries as follows:

From Monday 30th November 2015 Aldergate Medical Practice will be changing extended surgery times.

We propose to cancel our Thursday evening surgery and increase the number of appointments available on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

This change will be on a trial basis and is due to the increased

numbers of patients who have DNA’d the late evening appointments

Our new extended hours are

  • Wednesday & Friday: 07:00 – 08:00

Telephone Advice

During surgery opening hours your call will be directed to our treatment room where a member of staff will be able to book you a telephone consultation with a practice nurse.

We do offer Telephone consultations with the Dr if there is no need for an examination.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. We now have a dedicated cancellation answer machine service, please note that this service is for cancellation of appointments only, no other messages will be dealt with.

Emergency Surgery

In response to complaints and suggestions about the appointment system, the practice has chosen to adopt a walk in emergency surgery.

Any patient with a single URGENT problem, needing to be seen on the same day, may choose to attend between 8.30am and 10.30am on a sit and wait basis.

Patients will be asked to give a reason for the appointment and will be seen in order of clinical priority.
